INGREDIENDS
Brown Bread- 10 Slices
Tomato Ketchup- 5 Tbsp
For the Potato Filling
Potatoes- 2 (Boiled)
Cumin Seeds (Jeera)- 1 Tbsp
Green Chilies- 3 (Chopped)
Green Peas- 3/4 Cup (Boiled and Mashed)
Dried Mango Powder (Amchur)- 3 Tbsp
Coriander (Dhania)- 1 Tbsp (Chopped)
Nigella Seeds (Kalonji)- 1/2 Tbsp
Oil- 1 Tbsp
Salt to Taste
For garnishing
Grated Carrots
Finely Chopped Lettuce Leaves
Method of Preparation:
For the Potato Filling
Cut the boiled potatoes into very small pieces. Heat the oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds. Fry them until they turn brown. Add the green chilies and fry them for a while.
Add the remaining ingredients- green peas, dried mango powder, coriander, nigella seeds and salt. Mix all the ingredients well. Keep the mixture on room temperature to cool it down a little.
Divide the mixture into 5 portions. Keep it aside.
How to proceed
Cut each brown bread slice into a round with the help of cutter or small bowl. Apply butter on one side of 5 bread rounds and tomato ketchup on one side of other 5 bread rounds. Place the potato filling on the buttered side of each bread round. Add grated carrots and lettuce leaves on one side of bread round. Cover with the bread rounds with the tomato ketchup on them to make the sandwiches. Press lightly with hands. Serve immediately.
Masala sandwiches are healthy to eat and quick to make as well. These can be enjoyed in morning breakfast or as evening snacks.
