Besan Ladoo Recipe with Rava / Sooji

Besan ladoo is one of the favorite, sweet desserts of Punjabi Indian families. Besan ke ladoo has a significant place in festivals. Besan ladoo recipe is easy to make and I am sure you will enjoy making this yummy besan laddoo.

 

Ingredients of besan ladoo:

2 cups gram flour (besan)
4 tbsp Sooji / coarse Semolina/ rava
11/2 cup sugar (grinded)
1 cup ghee
1 tsp each almonds, raisins, cashew nuts (chopped)
1 tsp Cardamom powder

How to prepare besan ke ladoo Recipe:

• The first step to make besan ladoo is to warm the ghee at low heat. Ghee acts as a binding agent in making of besan ke ladoo.

• Mix besan and rava/sooji when ghee is melted.

• Keep in mind that you have to constantly stir the ghee, sooji and besan mixture to avoid lumps. This is very important to make lumps free besan ke ladoo.

• Roast this mixture to medium heat till it turns into light golden brown in color.

• An appetizing aroma of besan and sooji/rava means your mixture of besan ladoo is ready.

• Allow this mixture of besan ke ladoo to cool down.

• Meanwhile, toast the chopped almonds and cashew nuts in a separate pan.

• Now add sugar and the nuts to the besan ladoo mixture and mix thoroughly.

• Also add raisins and cardamom powder to the mixture.

• An important point to note down here is that the mixture it to be warm enough to help the sugar to melt.

• Take the mixture in hands and with help of your palm convert it into besan ke ladoo.

• Garnish besan ke ladoo with the grated coconut.

• Place the ladoos on a dish to cool to room temperature before serving.

• Besan ke ladoo are ready to eat.

The Besan ladoos can be stored in an airtight container for long period. Besan ke ladoo are healthy to eat in winter.

In case the resulting mixture is not very wet to make besan ladoo then you can add some milk and then make the ladoos in desired shape. Hope this besan ladoo recipe will help you to make besan ladoo.
